Coming Soon: The Cypress OSDP-Ethernet Bridge
Since OSDP-enabled products first hit the market in 2015, early adopters as well as OSDP contributors have eagerly awaited an Ethernet device to connect SIA's OSDP™ protocol to a network, allowing integration into their solutions.
Cypress is marking its 35th anniversary year with the introduction of a device that will simplify the adoption of the Security Industry Association's OSDP standard.
Along with accelerating the adoption of OSDP v2, the Cypress OSMIUM OSDP-Ethernet bridge will aid in the convergence of IT and security, and provide a plug-and-play tool for application developers who want to explore and develop the many features built into the OSDP protocol.
Cypress is a leader in providing data converters to the security industry, many of which were developed to overcome the inherit challenges of the Wiegand standard. Cypress Founder and CTO Tony Diodato is perhaps as well acquainted with the need for to replace the Wiegand standard as anyone in the industry. With his unique perspective on Wiegand and Cypress' role in helping integrators overcome its challenges, it is both natural and ironic that Diodato is so committed to advancing the adoption of the OSDP standard.
Diodato is an active participant in the Security Industry Association's OSDP Working Group, the SIA subgroup of the Standards Access Control & Identity Subcommittee which has worked cooperatively to develop OSDP and advance its adoption.
